Palm Riviera (Riviera delle Palme) spreads in the central part of Italy on the edge of regions Marche and Abruzzo on the Adriatic coast around famous San Benedetto del Tronto. It got its name thanks to the many palms that grow here and together with lots of oleandre trees create exotic atmosphere.
San Benedetto d.T. was established in the 9th century before Christ. More that 7 thousand palm trees give a tropical flair to this popular resort. The beach here is 5km long with fine sand and gently shelves into the sea. From among the sports facilities and amenities of the resort we can name tenis courts, pools, atletic and football stadium, roller-skating stadium, petanque course and many children´s playgrounds. The character of the resort continues down to those politically belonging under Abruzzo region: Martinsicuro, Alba Adriatica, Tortoreto Lildo and from among the youngest Villa Rosa.
The seaside resorts of Pesaro and Fano offer nice sandy beach, Marotta, on the other hand, has a pebble one.
