Useful information before booking and travel

What you should know before your ski trip – useful information related to stays organized by travel agency Reny Travel on themes such as transport, accommodation, catering, pictures, surcharges, parking, skipasses, ski rental, assistance service and the like.

1) Own transport

Client using own means of transport are responsible themselves to keep the stated times of check-in and check-out and so for consuming or not consuming the services booked. Exact times of check-in and check-out will be stated in the instructions for journey that we send to client before journey together with accommodation voucher.

2) Check-in

The check-in or signing in for the accommodation at the reception or agency office is in the afternoon of the arrival day. In hotels it is usually starting from about 2PM until 9-10PM, apartments between 4-6PM. Check-out, which means emptying the accommodation unit and leaving the facility on the departure day is done in the morning, usually between 9-10AM. In case you plan – or happen to be forced – to arrive later than the usual check/in times, it is necessary to inform about it in advance by phone. Otherwise we do not guarantee accommodation on the arrival day, it might be possible from the day after or marked as “no-show” by the hotel.

3) Accommodation

All accommodation facilities displayed in our offer were carefully chosen by us. With each accommodation facility we display the official category into which they were included and that meets international criteria.

The disposition and type of beds (matrimonial bed, folding couch, separate bed, bunk beds etc.) in apartments might vary in specific apartments, but it meets the description stated regarding number of beds in apartment.

Assigning specific rooms to clients is in sole competence of the hotel (facility manager) and our agency cannot affect it. Equipment, size and orientation of rooms in the same facility might not be the same for all rooms. We always communicate the wishes of clients to the hotel gladly, however we cannot guarantee them in case they are not against a supplement or confirmed by the accommodator bindingly.

Single rooms, though against a supplement usually, are generally smaller, worse oriented or without balcony (as per specific description).

During the high season cases of “overbooking” might occur. This means a case when a hotel overfills its capacity by own mistake or will. In such case the client has to be provided with alterative of same or upper category.

Do not seek absolute peace in ski resorts. Ski vacation and winter holiday goes together with après ski parties after skiing, bars, discoes and night clubs that might cause noise.

Periods before and after the main / high season, so called low season periods, bring along with favorable prices also a fact that some facilities or services might be limited or not working at all.

4) Pictures

The pictures we publish have mainly illustrative purpose, because it is not possible to display all existing room types. Accommodation facilities, rooms and apartments correspond to the description on websites.

5) Distance from ski lifts / skibus

The information about distance from the accommodation to the ski slopes / ski lifts / skibus stop are for orientation only. Use of skibuses is generally included in the price of skipass. Ski buses follow their routes and time schedule. Some hotels provide their own skibusses or smaller shuttle buses for their clients for free or with some additional payment locally. The time schedule is solely in competence of the service provider and travel agency cannot affect it.

6) Catering

The variety and type of meals offered are influenced by tradition of local kitchen and category of accommodation. Continental breakfast involves warm drink (coffee, tea), white bread or rolls or biscuits, butter, jam and sometimes honey. Widened continental breakfast offers additional salami, cheese or eggs.

Catering in buffer form means free combination of the meals offered, according to the hotel category. Served dinners (or lunch) include service and menu form means a choice between few menus (usually done one day in advance, which might mean not much choice on arrival day), sometimes salads and desserts in buffet form.

Drinks are never included on meals except otherwise stated.

Half board means combination of breakfast and dinners, the stay begins with dinner on arrival day and ends with breakfast on departure day. Full board includes lunch in addition. Catering type “more inclusive”, “3/4 board”, “half board plus” or “all inclusive” means something else in each hotel. You can find the description of specific catering in each hotel description in part “board / catering”.

Accommodation with cooking possibility offers kitchens or kitchenette which are equipped with fridge (might not have freezer cell) and a double plate or gas or electric or ceramic cooker. The quality and type of equipment depends again on accommodation category. Kitchen utensils are basic, do not expect a completely equipped kitchen. You might miss your favorite knife type, tin opener or dishes might be in low amount.

7) Parking / garage

Parking places at hotels / residences are free until available, if not stated otherwise. That means you cannot claim a parking spot if it is not reserved and /or paid.

8) Supplements

Obligatory / mandatory supplements are paid generally on the spot at arrival and their height is stated in each accommodation (refundable deposit, final cleaning, local tax, fee for a child under 2 years, etc.).

Facultative supplements are paid in the travel agency (such as single room supplement, full board supplement, balcony, etc.) and some locally (pet, garage, etc.), depending on each hotel.

9) Assistance service

Assistance service is a phone assistance offered in English language. It can be an employee of Reny Travel or a representative of a foreign partner who is reachable on phone but can help or advice in exceptional situations or problems. You will get the name and phone contact for the assistance in the instructions for journey that we send together with vouchers prior to your travel.

In case you also book a comprehensive travel insurance it usually includes assistance service too, for cases of insured event.
