Grado is an especially attractive town, a holiday
centre of the northern Adriatic region, enriched by a beautiful
natural area, excellent climatic conditions and a more than three-kilometre-long
gently shelving sandy beach. The central beach with the best facilities
is one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy, which is sought after
by tourists from all over the world. The most attractive part for
the tourist is the historical centre with its many romantic alleyways
and squares. The Romans, who had taken shelter here, as they had
to hide from the northern attacks, founded this town. The architecture
of the old townhouses was influenced by Venetia. You can admire
the cathedral of St. Euphemius with pillars that were made of Greek
marble in the 3rd century and the floor from the 6th century. Also
very interesting is the St. Maria basilica from the 5th century.
Those of you, who like the sun, will find ideal places for sunbathing
on the beaches of the lagoon, or on any of the islands - Isola di
Buso offers refreshment also in a trattoria. On the beaches you
can do various sports, games and entertainment for example volleyball,
water-skiing and windsurfing. There are also two tennis courts and
a basketball court. In the historical centre, there are other than
the historical monument and attractions also many coffee bars, restaurants,
bars and shops, which will make your holiday atmosphere better.
Grado is an ideal place for spending a holiday for visitors of all
age groups. |
